The Franciscan Missionaries of the Cross (FMC) is Religious Community for people who have a calling by God to be Holy. For many reasons in life this did not happen or was fulfilled. The Franciscan Missionaries of the Cross provides the opportunity for people with such a calling, who continue to feel in their hearts this calling.

The Franciscan Missionaries of the Cross was born from the heart of Br Paul Zimmerman FMC in 2010. With the blessing of Archbishop Ian Charles Adrian on the 12th of August 2010 a Charter was presented to Bishop Paul Zimmerman and it was promulgated under his juristdiction of The Australian Old Catholic Church. And giving said Community his protection. Today the Order and Australian Old Catholic Church is ordinariat of the Liberal Catholic Apostolic Church and under its protection

We are all called to be holy in this life. Some have been called to the Religious life. Some have entered and for various reasons left. To then feel that isolated and rejected feelings that often occur. But deep down, that calling of God is still inside. For various reasons they are not able to continue their vocation as a religious. FMC is there to fill that void. If you have that calling inside of you to be religious whether you are married or single, male or female, we are all in the same community, no distinction. FMC could be for you. Some live in Community and others in their own home.
